In September the Zoning Hearing Board had sided with the township on an appeal to an order to stop work on the duplex at 131, 133 Garrett Avenue. They were surprised to learn just days before the meeting that township solicitor John Rice had made a different bargain. Several residents of the Garrett Hill neighborhood castigated the board over the settlement, saying they had been asked by township officials to reach an agreement with builder David Brosso and had approved a pact where the dormer would be removed. “Shame on you!” someone yelled out just after the vote. However, in a 5-2 vote, with Commissioners Jake Abel and John Nagle opposing, Radnor commissioners approved the settlement that permits a front dormer to remain and requires the developer to pay $10,000 to the township. RADNOR – Emotions ran high as Garrett Hill residents objected to a settlement agreement with DJB properties over a twin home on Garrett Avenue that was built higher than the zoning code permitted.
